So really, I was unable to say no to Darius Whiteplume, pal of the Empire and author of the eclectic and fabulous blog Adventures in Nerdliness, when he invited me to co-curate a Tumblr blog dedicated to one of my long-time favorite actors, Helmut Berger. In the tradition of other similar celebrity-celebrating Tumblogs, this effort is titled Fuck Yeah Helmut Berger. We welcome submissions, so if you've got some Berger-related material you'd like to share with the internet, let me know!
Taking advantage of Tumblr's Wild Westier attitude towards NSFW content, I've posted some material that I've held off on sharing here on the Love Train. That cover up at the top, showing Mr. Berger with Diabolik's girlfriend Marisa Mell, gives just a taste of the photo-spread I scanned in last night for your fapping delectation. You're all extremely welcome!

hah, i was just reading about Helmet last night in Wolfgang Flur's I Was A Robot bio- Helmut tried to give Wolfie the ol' what-for but Flur said he smelled too much of booze and agression, plus the fact nobody in Kraftwerk is gay...they say.
Helmet looks awesome.
Thanks for putting the Helmut blog together, Kate. I'm heading over there now!
First taste is free. ;-D
I still prefer my Blogger, but Tumblr can be so wild and weird, plus it takes little thought or effort, thus it is perfect for me. :-D
I still need to write that slash porn story with Berger and Diabolik and Udo Kier's Baron Frankenstein. Marissa Mell and Helmut Berger? That pairing is so hot it makes my brain melt.
Sigh.
And I think we can safely call this thread WON by Prof. G. There are times when I consider trying to plow my way through Berger's autobiography in search of similarly outrageous tales, but I'm held back by a miserably inadequate grasp of the German language and a general lack of desire to spend the money on getting an import copy. Still--a gal can dream!
Fred, I have to give credit to Darius for the concept and execution! He just gave me a good reason to go through my back-catalog of paper ephemera :)
Darius, I hear you on Tumblr's ease of use. I think less about posting something to Tumblr, which is probably both good AND bad...
Doc M, I heartily endorse this idea. It's a most excellent expression of the id, in its most chiseled-cheekbone manifestation. Yum.
I'm guessing that "Fuck Yeah Helmut Berger" was also a phrase that sprang priapically into Luchino Visconti's mind round about the time he made 'The Damned'.
I’ve nominated you for a Versatile Blogger award.

OK, Neil--THAT is a good zinger! Bravo. And thank you so much for the recognition and kind words. I'm all gawky and awkward in my happiness at being named alongside some really powerhouse talents on that list. Thank you again!
